Magnify Adds Social Networking Capability

by Sarah Wurrey on March 20, 2008

Popular video sharing site Magnify.net has announced it will be adding social networking elements to its service.  Currently, Magnify serves as sort of a personal aggregator, allowing users to gather video from any video sharing site on the Web (such as YouTube) and create video channels with their favorite content.

According to the TechCrunch report, the changes will result in users having the ability to “track and subscribe to the activity streams of other members, so they will know when their new “friends” rate, tag, share, or comment on a
video. With this release, Magnify is also integrating with Twitter, Mogulus, and Flickr. Magnify splits ad revenues 50/50 with the sites  It is offering Pro and Enterprise versions as well.”

While the TechCrunch report on the move was slightly critical, Magnify’s CEO argued that the site already qualified as a community, the new features will simply let users interact more.
